This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the quarterly valuation process for approximately 400 assets and associated liabilities across several global private equity real estate and infrastructure funds. This position will manage the quarterly valuation process in accordance with the Company’s valuation policies, oversee the external appraisal engagements and management of any associated consultant relationships.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

This position has the following duties related to its key areas:

  • Responsible for coordinating, managing, documenting and presenting the final results of the quarterly valuation process.

  • Work cross-functionally with asset management and debt capital market teams for support in reviewing third-party valuations.

  • Responsible for final review and evaluation of internal valuations and external appraisals for quality and reasonableness of results in accordance with Company’s and Fund’s valuation policies.

  • Key member of the Company’s valuation committee.

  • Prepare, maintain and update the charter for the valuation committee.

  • Own valuation process and respond to inquiries from current and prospective investors.

  • Responsible for the adequacy and documentation of the internal controls related to quarterly valuation process.

  • Manage all aspects of valuations for external audits including interfacing with auditors and responding to all inquiries.

  • Evaluate and coordinate an approved appraiser list and recommend qualified additions or deletions to list.

  • Facilitate onboarding of third-party valuation providers.

  • Assist with other valuation needs related to tax planning and/or financial reporting.

  • Familiarity with private equity and private debt asset classes

  • High level of proficiency with Argus Enterprise and Excel

  • Institutional experience with quarterly valuation and NCREIF preferred

  • Must be able to multi-task, be well organized, and flexible in fast-paced environment

  • Tenacious, determined, and enthusiastic in meeting deadlines

  • Self-starter, taking initiative on daily tasks, and able to work in an organized manner

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, initiative and good judgement as well as constructive problem solving

  • Strong and demonstrated interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

Education And/or Experience

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters preferred, with a concentration in finance, economics and/or real estate

  • MAI designation, preferred

  • State licensed, general certified

Work Environment

The position will work in a general office setting and may require travel, up to 20% of time annually, to remote office locations based on organizational/business needs.

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for the majority of the workday, sitting at a desk, consistently operating a computer. The person in this position must be able to access file cabinets and office machinery (to include a computer, copier, and fax machine). On occasion, may need to lift boxes of up to 10 lbs.
