Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key prospective investors and consultants – with coverage of a significant portion of the United States and Canada. This work will relate to fundraising for all Waterton investment strategies – multifamily, SFR, senior living and hospitality. Lead the team’s work in developing all fund related materials and responses – presentations, fact sheets, PPMs and DDQs. Direct the capital development plan for Waterton’s senior living and hospitality strategies by working closely with the team to develop a fundraising strategy and appropriate products, and oversee the sales process and closing.
The senior investor relations professional will have 10+ years of investor-facing experience, with established investor and consultant relationships and experience in private equity fund development and capital raising required.
Your Impact And Job Responsibilities
Proven leadership and mentorship capabilities with junior, mid and senior level team members; ability to provide positive development and guidance through a coaching, collaborative approach
High level marketing and due diligence expertise. Detailed understanding of the process, mechanics and best practices of coordinating new product fundraises – from developing a product to the most salient marketing and diligence collateral to successfully managing on-site visits and diligence support to finalizing legal negotiation
Established investor and consultant relationships in the U.S. (ex-U.S. a positive) with those actively committing to and advising on closed end, separate account and/or co-investment multifamily, senior living and hospitality strategies – including a detailed understanding of inner workings and decision process within the investor and consultant organizations
Develop investor and consultant relationships to close (i.e. demonstrated capital commitments to funds and/or accounts)
Work closely with the team to develop marketing collateral, due diligence materials and RFP responses
Build and represent the Waterton “brand”; differentiate and position Waterton and its funds from other firms seeking capital
Lead the capital strategy for Waterton’s hospitality and senior living strategies
Drive new relationships by targeting institutional investor and consultant prospects, across channel-type, in defined U.S. and Canadian markets
Proactively cross-sell the firm's products to existing and new clients where appropriate
Work in close collaboration with senior professionals across Investments, Portfolio Management, Operations, Legal, Compliance and IT to ensure the firm’s best resources are introduced to potential investors, as well as involved in producing due diligence materials and fulfilling investor requests
What You’ll Bring- Desired Skills And Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communication or related field preferred. Graduate Degree preferred.
Experience: 15+ years progressive Marketing experience with at least 10 years’ experience in an investor-facing, leadership role within multifamily or a related industry
Ability to to Travel: Travel required 30 – 50% generally
